CREATING DATA DRIVEN GRAPHICS Part (A)
STEP : 1
CREATING DATA DRIVEN GRAPHICS.The first thing to do is to create a template file similar to the one shown in Figure 14-1. This template contains a total of six layers: an object (the car), text layer (car make and model), a label (classic car), the label’s background, a tan border, and a white background.To create a similar template yourself, select File > New to open the New document dialog box. From Preset choose Web, set the width to 150, the height to 200, and click OK.
STEP : 2
Press the U key to select the Rectangle tool and drag a rectangle that is 45 px tall across the top of the document. Click the Create New Fill or Adjustment Layer button at the bottom of the Layers panel and choose Solid Color. When the Color Picker dialog box opens, enter the hex value of #342f2f (dark brownish gray) into the color field and click OK to close the dialog box.
STEP : 3
Press the T key to select the Horizontal Type tool, and on the Type toolbar at the top of the screen, select Impact as the font, set the size to 20 pt, the color to white, and the alignment to center. Place your cursor on top of the gray rectangle and type the words CLASSIC CAR. Your type will appear on its own layer.
STEP : 4
To add a 10 px tan stroke around the outer edges of the template, press Shift +Ctrl+N/Shift +Ô+N to create a new layer. Then press Ctrl+A/Ô+A to Select All and select Edit > Stroke. In the Stroke dialog box, set the width to 10 px, the color to #d0cab8, the location to inside, and click OK. Rename the layer 10 px border
